Peer Reviewers

Jurnal Kajian Interdisipliner Hukum applies a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the academic quality, originality, relevance, and integrity of every manuscript considered for publication. The journal uses a double-blind peer-review system, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review process.

1. Initial Editorial Screening

All submitted manuscripts are first examined by the editorial team to determine whether they comply with the journal's focus and scope, author guidelines, manuscript structure, and basic academic and ethical requirements. Manuscripts may also undergo plagiarism screening at this stage. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's requirements may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected before entering the peer-review process.

2. Reviewer Selection

Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial screening are assigned to qualified reviewers with relevant expertise in the field of law addressed by the manuscript. Reviewers are selected based on their academic competence, research experience, and subject-matter expertise. The editorial team also considers potential conflicts of interest when appointing reviewers.

3. Double-Blind Review

The journal applies a double-blind review process, meaning that the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed from each other. Reviewers are expected to provide an objective, independent, and constructive assessment of the manuscript without being influenced by the author's identity, institutional affiliation, or other personal considerations.

4. Review Criteria

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on several academic criteria, including:

  • Relevance to the focus and scope of the journal;

  • Originality and novelty of the research or scholarly argument;

  • Clarity and significance of the research problem;

  • Adequacy and accuracy of the legal research methodology;

  • Quality and relevance of legal sources and references;

  • Strength of legal analysis and argumentation;

  • Consistency between research objectives, methodology, findings, and conclusions;

  • Quality of academic writing and manuscript organization; and

  • Contribution to the development of legal scholarship.

5. Reviewer Recommendation

After completing the evaluation, reviewers provide recommendations to the editorial team. The possible recommendations include:

  • Accept without revision;

  • Accept with minor revisions;

  • Major revisions required and resubmission for further review; or

  • Reject.

The final editorial decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief or authorized editor after considering the reviewers' comments and recommendations. A recommendation from a reviewer does not automatically determine the final decision.

6. Revision Process

When revisions are required, authors must carefully address the reviewers' comments and submit a revised manuscript within the timeframe specified by the editorial team. Authors may be required to provide a response explaining how each reviewer comment has been addressed. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation when necessary.

7. Editorial Decision

The editorial team makes the final decision based on the overall quality of the manuscript, reviewers' evaluations, the manuscript's relevance to the journal, and compliance with academic and publication ethics. The possible final decisions are acceptance, revision, or rejection.

8. Confidentiality and Ethical Conduct

Reviewers must treat all manuscripts as confidential documents and must not disclose, reproduce, or use unpublished information contained in the manuscript for personal or professional purposes. Reviewers are required to disclose any potential conflict of interest and should decline the assignment if they are unable to provide an impartial review.

Jurnal Kajian Interdisipliner Hukum is committed to conducting a fair, transparent, objective, and academically rigorous peer-review process to ensure that all published articles meet appropriate standards of legal scholarship and academic integrity.
